Accepted Answer

Probably not: but depends on how much you would drink and how close to your test.  If you leave 8 hours between your last drink and your blood tests, it should be ok.

Accepted Answer

Labs: alcohol can effect the triglycerides if you are a chronic drinker.  Best to just be honest with your doctor about your habits so they have as much info as possible to interpret your labs and help you with your health.

had my physical & labs. cbc, lipid and chem profile all within normal except sodium 134. primary dr not concerned at all. i did drink a water bottle right down that am. do you find it concerning?

: Your sodium level would be considered low but not dangerously so.  There are a variety of physiological causes but as long as the level remains at this level there is not reason to be concerned.  I’m sure your doctor with monitor it on future lab studies.

No: There is no such thing as  "smart water". It is just a scam to separate the not so smart people from their money.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

1.4 then 1.8 bilirubin, the test of my blood work ,cbc,lipid ,cmp is normal .i dont drink,smoke or do drugs. help!!!

Isolated bilirubin: elevation is not uncommon, with conditions such as Gilbert's disease.  For your specific case, you should ask for advice from the doctor who ordered the test.

: It would not be unusual to see such a transient raise in this liver marker during and after a common viral infection. Many simple viruses affect the internal organs that way but do not create enough of a long term problem to be considered worrisome. Retesting in a few weeks can see if it is settling down as expected.

my ast is 54 alt was 21 my lipid panel was all normal bmi is 22 and i dont drink alcohol or take tylenol or any meds. what could be the cause. concerns for liver failure and toxicity?

: If I recall correctly you asked this question before. AST is not a specific maker of liver disease unless you are an alcoholic. Liver enzymes fluctuate a lot with routine blood test. You should not lose sleep with this result. If it concerns you too much, you can have the test repeated.

Fasting: Yes. Of course. Every primary care specialist will advise you to avoid calories when you are fasting. So water and black coffee are the two things that are allowed. Every office I have worked at tells their patients this when they are told to fast prior to coming in for these lab tests.
