No: It is spread from fecal contamination of things subsequently swallowed. Aerosol inaction of particles swallowed may also occur. It is not spread from breathing it in.

More contact: Noro virus is quite virulent - 18 particles is all it takes.  Usually direct contact - unless someone coughs in your face...  The virus is spread by direct contact and from contaminated foods.  See cdc site for more info: http://www.Cdc.Gov/features/norovirus/.

Viruses travel: Yes, what you've heard is generally true for norovirus - it's transmitted by contact with infectious material. In fact, only a very tiny amount is needed to infect someone else -which is why those cruise ships are always in trouble, because one person gets it - and the whole ship then gets infected from the small amounts of virus spread around. Different germs have different preferences for travel

Hiatal hermia: Stranger things have happened. But i guess it could develop if you were coughing so hard. Usually it is a chronic problem that is associated with reflux and if breathing problems occur that means it is very big and needs surgery to be fixed.

Gastritis: Sounds like irritated stomach or gastritis. May even be gastroesophafeal reflux (gerd ) and hiatus hernia. There are other possibilities that only a visit to a doctor can help figure out and diagnose. If you are not already doing it, try over the counter medications for acid, such as zantac, (ranitidine) pepcid, and Prilosec for a couple of weeks then visit a doctor.

Its possible BUT: UNLIKELY...if the person you kiss has been contaminated (eg by kissing someone with the virus) but is not yet sick themselves!!
Norovirus is a GI virus ...spreads by CONTACT!
Keep that in mind!

...: Norwalk viruses are found in vomit and stool. You can get it by eating/drinking contaminated products, touching contaminated things, having direct contact with a person who is infected. People are contagious from when they begin feeling sick until at least 3 days after they are better. Wash hands often, avoid food prepared by someone infected and clean contaminated surfaces often.

A functioning immune system should resolve the infection within 2 weeks and protect you against the same serotype of norovirus, But other causes of diarrhea, or other serotypes of norovirus may be responsible for your symptoms.  There are now stool tests to detect this that are very sensitive.
