Yes: A hernia can form in anyone who had a prior abdominal surgery. The longer incision sites have the most risk. See your doctor or surgeon for an examination.

A hole: And abdominal wall or groin hernia is literally a hole in the abdominal wall through which abdominal contents may protrude, causing a lump and/or pain. at your navel and vagina.

The smaller the hernia the greater the chance of incarceration of bowel, infarction and gangrene.

Larger opening.: While both Men and Women have inguinal canals, males tend to have slightly larger openings due to the fact that the testicles descend through this canal and into the scrotum during developement. The opening may not close completely or remain weak. Women have a large ligament that runs through the canal and holds their uterus, so abdominal organs etc, cannot pass.

Unclear: This is really unclear. Were the feet feeling cold before the surgery at any time? That is probably from your hypothyroidism if it is hypo. It's unlikely your aorta was dissected.

Probably infection: Are you sure it's not a sebaceous cyst or infected hair follicle.  There are hernias that can arise in women but are rare and are in the vulva. It mat also be a swollen lymph node from shaving.  In any event, i would get it checked out but can't imagine a hernia.
