Yes: Yes but these ate not the classic symptoms.  The more typical symptoms are confusion,  symptoms similar to meningitis or a stroke,  unexplained weakness.  Numbness around the mouth, unexplained numbness of the tongue, unusual headaches can also be symptoms.

A lot going on: I wouldn't think the urinary infection is the most likely culprit but you have other issues. Certainly, when a person has migraines, often with nausea, she often does not feel like eating &amp; can lose weight. Weight loss is also a common symptom of untreated depression. Then add a urine infection where you can just feel punk/not eat. You need a thorough evaluation &amp; treatment for all these issues

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, unintended weight loss of 30 lb is serious and warrants an investigation. Consult a GI specialist.

Headache, etc.: There are many causes for your symptoms and you must make an early appointment to see your doctor. It may turn out to a medical issue or an emotional issue. Either one or both needs attention.

i'm taking phendermine and metformin for weight loss and i have horrible nausea all the time which one should i stop taking?

Accepted Answer

Diet Pills: Both.  Phentermine is very dangerous to your heart and will not in any way lead you to any real or lasting weight loss. If you do not have diabetes, then please stop taking Metformin. It may only help with a pound or two of weight loss and not provide any long term benefit. I would also advise you to consider finding a medical provider that will be honest, compassionate and ethical with you.

Of concern: Such symptoms are concerning for a variety of conditions, among them infections and malignancies being common. Comprehensive work up is needed, including physical exam, labs and imaging. To expedite work up and in the right clinical circumstances an ER/ Urgent Care visit is definitely appropriate.

I think you should: be checked for diabetes. Unexplained weight loss is a significant sign and the craving of sweets may indicate some problems with blood sugar control and insulin resistance. We do learn to crave sweets as babies: sweet is the first taste humans learn to prefer. Carbohydrates release the feel-good brain chemical serotonin and the taste of sugar releases endorphins that can relax us. But get checked!

Sounds like: You may be having a flare of the crohn's. You don't say what meds you are on, but i would suggest you contact the doctor who is managing your crohn's immediately before you get too far out of control and suffer a complication. If this is the crohn's you need an adjustment of meds or a change in meds. Do not delay!

Could be!: If you have H. pylori, that could explain your symptoms. Treat it, as your doc recommends. and be sure it is gone on repeat testing.  If your symptoms go away, you will know that this was the culprit.
