Probable UTI: Since the female urethra is short, and its location is so near the vaginal opening, UTIs are unfortunately common. You could have suffered an abrasion (local irritation) to the urethral opening instead which could also cause these symptoms.   Call your FP and discuss whether a urine screen or test is needed. In the meantime try cranberry/blueberry juice or capsules to help. Good luck

"Damage" unlikely: It often takes time to feel 100% again after treatment of any type of infectious process including a UTI in a 27 year old.  Just stay the course with your medications, drink plenty of water, cranberry juice if that's your persuasion during this decade when it appears to be helpful, and remember, to wipe "Front to Back." If symptoms still persist within the next few days, call your doctor.

Pyelonephritis: It sounds like you have pyelonephritis/ renal infection.  You could have infected kidney stones or an obstructing ureteral stone.  You could have vessico-ureteral reflux or a large  post void bladder residual.  I would recommend that you see a urologist and get a renal/bladder ultrasound and voiding cysto-urethrogram.  Good luck.

i had uti my dr said it was a uti cause by staphylococcus epidermis which he said is a bacteria and not cause by sti. i read somewhere that staph epidermis is found weak immune system inividuals and hospital patients. did my dr misdiagnosed me?

Not particularly: Staph epidermidis is a common strain of casual friendly bacteria that are usually found on anyone's skin. It is considered part of the natural "biome" or background germs we all have occasionally on our bodies. They are frequently found as contaminants in urine specimens. It may also be found at the penile outlet &amp; be irritating.
