Tv emits its own light, as do video screens, and your viewing comfort will depend upon optical clarity and image brightness.  No harm is done if these are not optimized although you might have to strain if they are not comfortable.

i've got glasses but i don't wear them.  im scared to wear incase they don't help my eyes. i got glasses to watch tv but never wear them? is this bad?

Important to see : Glasses are intended to help you see well at 20/20 vision. If you're only using your glasses to watch television, and don't feel you need to wear them full time then that is your prerogative. However, if you're driving, or going to drivers ed to learn to drive, you need to have 20/20 vision, so that you can see the details of the road, the traffic, and the people crossing better. Most people like seeing well.

i was watching tv in dark room more than 30 mins. eyes felt uncomfortable cause brightness. i stared at wall for more than 15 secs. i looked at tv screen it was blurry and i thought everything turned black. not sure if i blinked. did i have a seizure?
