i have been diagnosed with inflamation of my intestines i have two cysts on my ovaries and thickening of my bladder wall i also have a punctate right middle lobe subpeural nodule and amvery bloated and gassy what does all this mean?

Depends: A lot depends on the size of the cyst and if there is any associated enhancement on the MRI scan. There are many people who have benign cysts which are fluid filled regions in the brain. These may have a thin membrane around them. If they do not change over time, these do not need surgery. If there is enhancement, they have to be watched closely or biopsied to make certain it is not a tumor.

i have a two cm. cyst in my frontal left lobe of my brain. my grandmother had an anyurism and stroke. am i at a higher risk than most because of this?

Probably not: The 2 cm cyst in your head/brain is presumably an arachnoid cyst and is not itself a risk factor for aneurysm.  There is likely a hereditary component to some aneurysms, and often screening is done for people who have a first degree relative (i.e., parent, sibling, child)  with an aneurysm. Having a single grandmother with an aneurysm likely does not increase your risk much if at all.

Cyst in the brain: If it is just a cyst then there is no real danger other than a slight increase in bleeding. The key question is that this cyst is not associated with another lesion.  Arachnoid cysts are now commonly found as part of mr studies.

Good care, not worry: This depends on various factors and a consultation with a good neurologist or neurosurgeon should allow you to understand the nature of the cyst and the best management.  Repeat or periodic imaging may be recommended.  Often, a small cyst remains stable over time and may not require intervention.

Frontal Lobe Cyst: This is very difficult for me to answer with only a minimal amount of information. However, I suspect the meds are anti-seizure medications because the cyst might leave you at risk for a seizure while your doctors design a treatment plan for you. All I can recommend at this point is that to be sure you are under the care of a board certified neurologist or neurosurgeon. I wish you all the best.

Parietal lobe cyst ?: A "parietal lobe arachnoid cyst" measured at "10 mm thick" by CT can reflect lateral mass growth which can cause brain compression due to continued growth b/c of the limited volume of the skull for such growth to occur.  The MRI at a year prior may measure the cyst at a point when lateral growth, not "thickness" , was not at that point  increased.  Consult the neurologist for questions.

worried - brain mri w/out contrast 18 mo ago did not mention anything but recent ct w/contrast says possible small arachnoid cyst in anteriomedial frontal lobe. could this be a tumor that grew since then?

: Arachnoid cyst are benign, meaning not a cancer. They are not uncommon. Sometimes because of location and size they can cause symptoms. Sometimes if they are small they may not be mentioned on reports. Please talk to your PCP and let the radiologist compare both the scans to confirm it was there before.
