??: Belching can be associated with ulcers, as can pain, heartburn, epigastric pain, black stools, bloody emesis/vomit, burning in the chest. Ulcers will heal if you avoid the things that cause them - alcohol, NSAIDS like aspirin, Motrin, Aleve, (naproxen) ... and take acid reducing medications. Most ulcers will heal with medical therapy. Very few ulcers require surgery...

Acid Reflux: Not sure what "pre-ulcers" are, but if you are feeling discomfort in that area, contact your physician (pcp) for a diagnosis or referral to a specialist (gastroenterologist) for the proper diagnosis. Until that time, avoid acidic foods and drinks that are acidic, such as fruit juices, coffee, soda and others with caffeine, that produce stomach acid production.

Also, significant burns (curling's ulcer), head trauma (cushing's ulcer), sheering forces, cancer.

drinking too much alcohol, regular use of aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (nsaids), taking Aspirin or nsaids once in a while is safe for most people, smoking cigarettes or chewing tobacco, being very ill, such as being on a breathing machine
having radiation treatments.

Acid blockers...: Ulcers are usually caused by either an infection with a bacterial called helicobacter pylori or NSAID drugs such eg. Aspirin, ibuprofen, motrin. Acid blockers eg. Pepcid, (famotidine) Prilosec are the drugs of choice for healing ulcers.  If you have an infection with h. Pylori then antibiotics are indicated.  Good luck!

They can: Prior to Prilosec and zantac, some ulcers would heal on their own. However it normally takes 6 to 8 weeks. Some ulcers are cause by bacteria and others are caused by medications like motrin. We can eliminate bacteria, h.Pylori, with antibiotics.

By reducing acidity with medicines like Nexium (esomeprazole) and Prilosec the body can heal these ulcers.

Accepted Answer

NO: Percocet is oxycodone (an opioid) combined in a fixed dose with Acetaminophen (tylenol (acetaminophen)). Neither irritates the gastric mucosa and therefore will not contribute to ulcers or gastritis. Too much tylenol (acetaminophen) can lead to liver damage.
