hi my tsh 3rd generation result is 100. i have always been overweight and have recently gained a little bit of weight. have irregular periods and recently there has been issue of constipation.
it seems i would fall into the category of hypo-thyroidism.

I'm not sure what: ..units are being used to measure your TSH level, but 100???  In the USA, the standard value that labs use to measure TSH is microunits/ml and normal values range from 0.4 to 4.0 microunits/ml.  If you're TSH is 100 mcu/ml, then definitely something's wrong with your thyroid or the hormones regulating it. This test result requires follow up and either clarification or treatment.

Yes: Definitely. If your thyroid is not normal, your periods can become irregular. Make sure yours is normal, even it treatment is necessary.

i have had my monthly visitor since dec 31st.. i got thyroid tested, still normal levels. what can cause this? (i mean constantly having period)

Abnormal bleeding.: Having a period consistently or constantly (with or without interrupted days) is not normal.  It's good that your thyroid is normal but other things can be causing your abnormal uterine bleeding.  You need to see your doc or OBGYN and do additional tests including a pelvic ultrasound.  There is also high risk for iron deficiency anemia.  Good luck.

Common problem : Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections &  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

i had a total thyroidectomy in february. i have not had my period since last december, when i started having thyroid issues. ?

Not sure if your: amenorrhea is related to your thyroidectomy.  You should consult with an endocrinologist to determine the reason.  Treatment would depend upon your diagnosis.

Thyroid imbalance: Can definitely impact your period.  Hopefully, you are seeing your pcp or and endocrinologist who is managing your thyroid medicines.  Once your thyroid has gotten back in balance, your periods will likely return.  If not, see your gyn for evaluation.

Relationship: If you are not in menopause  the 2 may  be related. Once normalized things should return to normal. Would however check with your ob-gyn.
