The major risk of not changing the Mirena (levonorgestrel) is pregnancy. Of course, there is a higher risk of ectopic with IUDs.

Not normal: If u are bleeding in between your periods or all the time, if u have bleeding once per month that is normal , often the Mirena (levonorgestrel) will stop all your bleeding but many women have break through bleeding on it, please discuss with your gyn.

No: The Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud releases Progesterone locally in the uterine cavity and is fda approved for contraception (up to 5 years) and for reducing heavy menstrual flow. The classic symptoms of menopause (hot flushes, night sweats, vag dryness, sleeplessness) would not be prevented by the mirena (levonorgestrel).

Can be : It varies from person to person. Some ovmate right away others it takes awhile. At age 19 i'm curious if you are asking about ovulation because you are trying to get pregnant or trying to avoid it. Consider starting another birth control and avoiding a teen pregnancy.
