Not usually: There are many factors that affect weight gain and three that really are out of our control are age, gender and genetics. The type of food, activity level, sleep and stress also play huge role and are under our control. It is possible to start looking at genetic variations fairly easy that may help patients pick the best diet for them.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Nausea can be a sign of hunger.  Tachycardia with standing may indicate you are dehydrated.  Increase your fluid intake.

Heart rate : It is a reaction that some people may have.  You should try and avoid these foods.  If the food is very spicy this can be induced by a reaction to the burning and your body producing a response to a percieved injury.

Sensitivities - food: You may be sensitive to the amount of histamine in the foods that you eat. You can find a list of histamine rish and histamine poor foods online. Tomatoes are known to be high in histamine.

Doctor can evaluate: What we typically call junk food doesn't cause any heart symptoms before, during, or after meals, when compared to any other typical foods we eat. The only exception would be foods or drinks with high levels of caffeine, which can cause palpitations or fast heart rates. Thus, one's primary care doctor can evaluate to find out what the palpitations are, and what might be leading to them.

What in cookies?: Sugar?Caffeine? White flour? Hard to say if  you are having a reaction to some ingredient you don't usually eat or it's an emotional reaction to eating something you don't feel good about eating. Numbers should return to normal by tomorrow. If not, something unrelated to cookies may be going on.

i was working and lifting food into cars in the hot sun some stuff heavy some not and my heart rate was 86-93-98-97-96 normal? i can feel it beating!

That's good: You should be able to feel your heartbeat when you're exerting yourself. Almost all of the "pop" stuff you read about heart rate is basically science-fantasy. You should be proud of the level of fitness that enabled you to do this kind of work, and it would be great if you were to enhance it even more with some serious aerobic exercise -- training with race-runners. I bet you'd enjoy it.
