: The stomach normally is acidic. If the dynamics are right for some of the stomach fluid to get into the esophagus, then you have GERD. To prevent GERD, eat smaller meals, have a low-fat diet, avoid caffeine beverages, avoid alcohol, avoid chocolate, avoid mints. Also do not lay down for at least 2 hours after a meal and do not eat anything late in the evening an maintain an ideal weight.

Muscle breakdown: Ck is a byproduct of muscle breakdown usually occurring from muscle injury or sometimes from certain supplements.

Maybe...: Be careful with iodine. If hypothyroidism is due to iodine deficiency, perhaps, but often thyroid problems are due to other reasons.
Do not overdose on iodine.
Find a good integrative medicine doctor who can help explore why your thyroid might not be functioning well. Consider betaine hcl to help digestion in the meantime.

Hormones?: A gastroenterologist can help you with your stomach acid levels.  The other issues you mention are best dealt w/by a clinical psychologist and/or psychiatrist.  Your doc can check your hormone levels to help with sexuality.  Peace and good health.

Not true: GERD is caused by contents in the stomach coming up through the esophagus, which in turn has a poorly understood cause. We think it is probably due to too many random openings of the valve. Certain medications can also cause the valve to open, as can stress, obesity, &amp; problems with the stomach emptying to name a few. Hope this helps!

Possibly: If you are not producing acid in the stomach, this can lead to poor digestion of proteins and increased bacteria in the intestines. Poor digestion and bacterial overgrowth can lead to compromise of the intestinal lining. This intern could lead to more gluten passing through the intestinal barrier and stimulating the immune system to produce anti-gluten antibodies. Get in if you have problems.

No: Low or High are "useless terms" and hair loss is in no way connected with either!  Symptoms of so called "hyperacidity (eg heartburn, stomach pain) are NOT due to "the amount" of acid but the GI tracts "sensitivity" towards it!  Speak with your Primary Care Provider about your symptoms!
