Very possibly: Bupropion not good choice if you continue to drink heavily. You can definitely get into trouble with increased risk of seizures, hallucinations, mood and behavior change, anxiety and panic attacks. Chantix similar. For the heavy drinker, nicotine replacement therapy (patch, gum, etc) is better choice. OR, if able, drink 1 drink/day or less on bupropion. Work with Doc on comprehensive quitting plan

This : This is something you should bring up with your neurologist. The thc is increasing your seizure threshold (meaning less seizures) for an unknown reason. Regardless your doctor may be happy with this outcome and decide to prescribe medical marijuana. Honestly I am not sure if it is legal in your state, but it is definitely worth bringing up to your neurologist.

Your friend may be especially sensitive to toxins, and he must be cautious about any drug.  He may need to be evaluated by a neurologic specialist.

EEG: Medications can have an effect on EEG results. In addition, excessive smoking/weed etc can potentially trigger a seizure which can alter the EEG. EEGs can have quite a bit of variation even for the same individual depending on when and for how long it is done for.
