Need to get routine: A routine exercise and stretching program should really help. If your hamstring muscles are tight, that will tilt your pelvis and may be adding to back fatigue and muscle irritation. Just as important is a regular light exercise of walking, biking, swimming or other cardio for 20-30 minutes daily. Lastly a strenghtening routine - like pilates will really help.

Probably these symptoms are minor and you are "fixating" on them HOWEVER a complete phsical exam by your Primary Care Provider (PCP) and some simple blood tests (eg: Sedimentation Rate) are indicated !

As long as you: Have not had any other new symptoms, such as pain shooting down arm or anything else suggesting nerve irritation or weakness, then stretching at your age should be appropriate. If you look at a site called www.Spine-health.Com, they have some good neck stretches. If this does not improve in the next few days, consider seeing a doctor. Hope that helps!

Avoid using it: It has no real value so avoid it. I would personally avoid any chemicals in or on my body unless absolutely necessary. This is not necessary.

4 weeks: Tylenol (acetaminophen) can be used for pain. Over the counter cough treatments are safe for use. If this has been going on for 4 weeks then you need to see a doctor and get the underlying problem treated instead of just treating symptoms.
