Kind of: Any petroleum productsare a bad idea for intercourse/outercourse.  Use only water based lubricants.  The former can cause a variety of infections and desquamative vaginitis as well- the equivalent of skin peeling after a sunburn.

The organism lives in your colon and can get onto the labia and into the vaginal opening.

Yeast? Allergy?: Hard to tell from this info whether you have yeast infection, allergy/irritation from latex, or from lubricant, or all three. Yeast can be effectively treated and/or prevented even if sensitive to latex, e.g. oral fluconazole once a week. If still symptoms, try polyurethane condoms instead of latex, and try different lubricants, maybe without spermicide.
