Sort of: Ovarian cancer will always increase the size of the ovary. Ovarian mass is a clinical term implying that an enlargement of the ovary can be perceived and that depends on the method of examination.

Not early enough: Only very advanced ovarian cancer will produce swelling in the abdomen which a patient can see and feel. Early ovarian cancers are too deeply located to be palpable by patient's hands.

i don't think i am asking question right  if my ovary is enlarged would it be due to a mass or can ovarian cancer cause ovary to swell with no mass?

No difference: An enlarged ovary, depending on how enlarged, may or may not have a detectable mass, yet still harbor cancer.  If the ovary is enlarged, with or without an obvious mass, the matter needs to be investigated by your doctor.

No: A cyst is inside your abdome, not on top of your leg.

Palpable cyst: Ovarian cysts can sometimes be detected/felt by your gynecologist, but usually can't be felt by pressing on your skin unless quite large.  I recommend that you follow up with the physician who ordered your ultrasound.

how long should hard lump above my incision be there for? doc said it was a hematoma, 1 month post laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy

Question diagnosis.: A hardlump around a closure site can be from the scarring process, suture material or herniation as well. Hematoma will typically resolve in that time frame and you should have seen overlying evidence of ecchymosis or bruising.  If tou are experiencing pain in that area be sure to followup with your surgeon.

Not normal: You should not be able to feel a lump like this. Have a doctor look at it for you.

Unrelated: As above. Teenage ovarian cysts are very common, and more commonly than not, observation is the best treatment, along with pain control.

why might there be a lump under my belly button after an ovarian cyst removal?

Scar tissue? Hernia?: Go back to your gynecologist and ask his/her opinion.  It may be nothing more than scar tissue (especially if done laparoscopically), but it may be a hernia.
