Most us cases occur in those who have traveled and been exposed to contaminated food or water.  Infected people excrete the bacteria in their stools for up to 3 months, so they are contagious until the diarrhea resolves.

You need to have stool cultures to determine if you still have salmonella bacteria in your feces. I would avoid handling and preparing any food for now, especially raw foods/salads and use very thorough hand hygiene

Yes: The elevation in SGOT and SGPT are most likely due to acetaminophin containing pain killers , and not typhoid antibiotic therapy. Any history of Hepatitis , and comparison to previous SGOT/SGPT levels are most helpful in diagnosis.

Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
