i am 5 months post gallbladder surgery. what will happen to me if i  am not eating?

Malnutrition...: Not eating of course will make anyone become in malnutrition, eventually emaciation to the end of life.  I hope this is not what you meant. But, our body takes time to adapt living after gallbladder removal. The decades accumulated experience has told us a commonsensical dietary modification will do the trick.  So, ask surgeon for detail and get going.

Weight management: If you are a bariatric patient, then it sounds like you are reporting success with treatment. If so, congratulations.

what should i avoid eating when recovering from back surgery?

Accepted Answer

Postop diet: No particular avoid items except anti-inflammatory meds if you've had a fusion. Eat foods that help to keep you regular: high fiber, bulk, and supplement as necessary. Understand narcotic medications and lessened activity levels cause constipation. Take iron if your blood count is low after a more major surgery. Calcium is also helpful in cases of fusion. Eat small, 6 meals per day to maintain wt.

Post Operative care: The doctors of health tap would defer on answering this question to your surgeon.  When you were discharged after surgery you were given post op instructions and a care plan. Please consult these instructions or ask your surgeon this question at your first post op visit.

Depends: It really depends on which surgery fr weight loss you had. Most surgeries do lead to a full feeling after eating. Nausea shoudl only occur if you over eat. Over time, most patients know when to stop eating to avoid nausea.

Yes: But why would you take if not eating beans specifically? It should not cause a problem.

NO: Wishful thinking
unless you are having Hemobilia (rare due to liver injury)  I suggest you see your MD for an exam

since a cpap can introduce air into the abdomen, is it safe to use after a nissan fundoppocation surgery?

Accepted Answer

Yes: CPAP by itself really is not pushing air into the stomach. Some people however tend to gulp air when sleeping on cpap. Make sure you have a newer generation "smart" CPAP that adjusts pressure based on level of obstruction. Also make sure you are professionally fitted for your mask type. We routinely have patients on CPAP and bipap after nissen surgery in our hospital.

i have been taking ppi for years. i was 23 when i started, and now im 29. this particular ppi is starting to not be effective. surgery time? or change medicine? i tried getting off, but cant even w/ healthy eating. long term decades safe?

: Would follow up with gastroenterologist and undergo and endoscopy to assess why you need PPIs.  Do you have concomitant H.pylori a bacteria that is associated with ulcers and needs antibiotic therapy?Ulcer?  Do you have food intolerances or eosinophilic esophagitis?  Bile reflux?  F/u/ w/ gastroenterology

i finish hemorrhoid, fissure surgery 6days back less food cause in passing so painful i didn't pass for3days but im eating yoghurt, milk, apple? normal?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Pain with defecation after hemorrhoid or fissure surgery is common.  Nonetheless, the more you delay, the harder the stool, the more painful it will be to pass stool.  Drink plenty of fluids and water, minimize narcotics for pain control, walk as much as possible, take warm baths to keep the anal area clean and sooth the pain.
