?Metformin: Metformin - an antidiabetic medicine that you might want to discuss with your prescriber - is sometimes helpful in drug-related weight gain. Also, mild degrees of hypothryoidism can make it difficult to lose those last few pound even with diet and exercise. A more problematic (more side effects) medication sometimes used with other psychotropic meds to control appetite is topamax (topiramate).

Is this a Rx?: Just tell whoever is testing you what meds you are taking lawfully. This is the best approach.

Depends on what they: are testing for. Phentermine is not an amphetamine and doesn't usually cause false positives in screening tests, and if the screening test IS positive, the confirmatory test will be negative. Although it is a prescription drug, it is not included on testing panels that I know of. Again, depends on how sophisticated the tests they are doing. Consider seeing a counselor - ? drug problem.

Urine drug screen: Depending upon the type of test performed  (the standard 5 drug panel in the US) would NOT likely show this drug in your system.    However, if the test is a more comprehensive one using GC/MS technology it might.     Drink plenty of water today and tomorrow.   
if it was prescribed  - don't worry - take the prescription bottle with you  if not  you might have an issue

They are similar: Adipex is the brand name for Phentermine and tenuate is the brand for diethylpropion.  They are both sympathomimetic appetite suppressants and work in similar ways.  Some people do better on one or the other, so it is good to have a choice. Your doctor can help you decide which is best for you.

Depression: I commend you for your concern about effects of medications. 
Prozac 40 mg/day is for moderately severe to severe depression.
This dose with long duration of use can cause many side effects.
Adipex is a stimulant like Amphetamine.
Both medications can cause anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, and lack of libido.
Use Relaxation Music, Meditation, Yoga.
See a Psychiatrist for Therapy and Medication.

if taking diet pill adipex, and stop, how long before the drug clears your system?  for employment drug testing.

Accepted Answer

A while: The time for 1/2 to clear your system is up to 20 hours, with another 20 hours for half the residual and so on.Depending on the sensitivity of the test, it may be wise to stop 4-5 days before to be sure it is out of your system.
