Excision.: If this node is easily accessible, then it should be removed for definitive diagnosis.  Tests like ultrasound and MRI can suggest benignity or malignancy, but taking it out and sending it to the lab would give us the most accurate and reliable answer.  Bring the MRI to a surgeon and see about having it removed.

Impossible to: venture a guess based on limited information and lack of the images themselves.  If you have no training in MRI interpretation, you will go nuts trying to decipher all of the sequences and the various darker and brighter areas that they produce.

7 months post op shoulder surgury still very swallow and a lot pain i had a injury april 2011 had a clean up in shoulder a bone spur doctor thought he saw tear in mri but didn't see when he was in my arm help please any advice

I'm : I'm sorry you are still having difficulties after your surgery.  Shoulder pain and swelling can be very persistent in some cases.  You should see your surgeon again as you are having so much pain, and then if your doctor clears you, have him/her prescribe physical therapy for you to improve your symptoms.  Shoulder pain is very important, as if it is not treated appropriately you can end up with a "frozen shoulder", so please do not delay care.

i recently had an mri of my neck and the radiologist noted that i have 3 slightly enlarged lymph nodes in the side of my neck and recommended i see my pc and get labs drawn. can this be hodgkin lymphoma?

: Possible with many other possibilities more likely. Reactive adenopathies, specifically if grouped, are by far the most common seen in practice with origin for the inflammation in the head and neck structures, sometimes as common as a tooth infection. Agree with work up through your PCP as recommended.

Lymphoma Staging: A diagnosis of lymphoma is usually made by obtaining a sample of lymph nodes that is easily accessible by a surgeon. If there is not easilly accessible lymph node to biopsy because of their deeper location, needle aspiration biopsy may be done. Cat (computed axial tomography) scans with or without pet (positron emission tomography) scans rather than MRI are generally used in finding these nodes.

Lymphoma: Lymphoma is not usually  definitively diagnosed by blood tests, but rather by biopsy of a mass. Ct scans and MRI's can be diagnostic. Symptoms may be suggestive but not fully diagnostic either. A tissue diagnosis is definitive.

MRI vs X-ray : Bone structure is visible on MRI, but the pictures look quite different from the way bone looks on X-ray. MRI is often used to evaluate delicate and complex bones such as one would find in wrists or feet.

All radiology tests only pick things up once they become a certain size.

It is a good imaging: Mri is a good imaging tool for sarcomas. It will show the normal anatomy of the bone and the additional growth arising from the bone and we can see the exact dimensions of the cancer and its local extent of spread and invasion into the surrounding tissues.
