i took half a hydroxyzine yesterday morning around 10-11 i took a pregnancy test that evening around 5:30 and got two positive. its been almost 30 hrs since and i just got another positive! is it correct or the medicine effecting it??

HPT: All home pregnancy tests sold in the states are extremely accurate, capable of detecting pregnancy as early as 4 weeks after your last menstrual period. None are any more accurate or effective than others. So pick one based upon cost & ease of use. Better yet, talk to your family doc about contraception so you won't need hpt. And make him wear a condom to prevent sexually transmitted infections!

Pregnancy Testing: We do not endorse products here online.  But, in the U.S. The fda requires a certain standard of sensitivity and accuracy for this type of product to be sold.  Any of them, as long as the testing is done at an appropriate time, should be accurate.

Late period: Could be related to illness, stress. normal variation.If no period in a week recheck  urine /blood HCG, also check thyroid. Follow up with doctor/urgent care

Hormones: If your menstrual cycle has lasted that long it's likely due to a hormonal imbalance. The best way to treat problems with extended periods is first with an evaluation by a doctor to make sure that there are no thyroid or weight problems and if nothing wrong then consider birth control pills to help regulate.

If not pregnant,: then you have no reason to mifepristrone.  It would be appropriate to get started on an effective contraceptive plan, with doctor's help.

There : There are lots of other reasons besides pregnancy that can cause a woman to miss a period such as: stress, illness, diet, excessive exercise or a hormone imbalance such as with a thyroid disorder or poly cystic ovarian syndrome.  It is good that you went to see your doctor about this.  If you are concerned about the effectiveness of the medication they put you on to regulate your period, then give your doctor a call.  Depending on what you were given and what they suspect is going on, they will be able to give you more accurate answers about what to expect of your period over the next few weeks to months.
