No.: Fe deficiency does not cause wt gain.  In a young menstruating female iron deficiency is caused by monthly loss of blood.

i have been taking ferrous fumarate iron for a month and i'm gaining a lot of weight very fast, can be the iron causing this? i eat very healthy and never gained weight so fast. is there any other kind of iron that won't cause weight gain?

: Iron supplements in general do not cause weight gain. If you feel that you are gaining weight out of proportion to how you are eating and exercising, you should talk to your doctor to be sure that there is not another cause present. You may want to ask your doctor if you need to have your thyroid checked. Otherwise, eat healthy foods in moderation and exercise. Good luck.

Prolactin: An elevated prolactin can lead to milk production and a lack of periods. It should be evaluated by your Obgyn or Endocrinologist.

No: Rarely hyperthyroidism manifested by a low TSH and elevated thyroid hormones can cause increased hunger  leading to weight  gain. Most hyperthyroids lose  (muscle) weight. Menopause has no effect on TSH levels, but as we age hypothyroidism with increased TSH becomes more likely. 20% of women on medicare have elevated TSH and have frank or subclinical hypothyroidism.

Complicated: Normal 8 am cortisol is 8-23 micrograms per deciliter. Since you don't use units, it's not clear if you're normal or not. Moreover, even if it's low as I think you're hinting, your Symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) may have suppressed it. A cortrosyn stimulation test is needed. Finally, low cortisol could cause fatigue and low BP, but not the other symptoms. Clearly, you need to stay under your doctor's care!

Not really an: Association.  It's more likely that the cause of your elevated DHEA levels is responsible but still very well could be unrelated.  To be able to better guide you, it would help to understand why a DHEA level was checked, like for an eval for PCOS or too much body hair(hirsuitism) or male pattern baldness in a women?

Not directly: A high potassium level in and of itself won't cause a weight gain.  However, if potassium level is high due to poor kidney function, weight gain could be seen due to water retention.  Avoid high potassium foods until you discuss this with your doctor (bananas, oranges, tomatoes, potatoes.)  good luck.

Maybe but it depends: How decreased is decreased? And decreased relative to what? You're actually asking a very complicated question that medicine is trying to answer. For instance, we know that hypogonadism (truly low t) is associated w/weight gain. But we haven't proven cause & effect. Perhaps, it's the weight gain that causes the drop in t. But when we give hypogonadal men some t, they feel better, then exercise ...

See that you: are on both Lexapro and wellbutrin (bupropion). Lexapro is usually pretty weight neutral and weight loss is not uncommon with wellbutrin (bupropion).
