Let me explain: Labia cysts do not frequently prove to be harmful, other than a mild discomfort in some cases. However, in few cases they can grow into tumors, which must be checked regularly. In case a cyst becomes problematic, surgery is the only option.

Needs an exam: Lumps, bumps, blisters and other skin abnormalities on the genitals need to be evaluated. An examination will be needed to know the cause and treatment. An experienced Obgyn should be able to determine the cause with an exam

See a Gyn Onc. : Vulvar cancer needs to be treated by a gynecologic oncologist. At 74, you are in the age group at risk for vulvar cancer. So if you didn't see a gynecologic oncologist, you should. If you have, and he or she is not worried about the cyst, you can get a second opinion or wait to see if the cyst grows. Or ask for a biopsy. That's the only way to know for sure what it is.

i have been getting multiple painful lima bean sized cysts on my vulva area (mons pubis, bikini, labia majora). it has been happening a lot more this ?

Cysts: Cysts in these areas are most often inclusion cysts or epidermal cysts which contain oils and are near hair follicles. If cysts cause symptoms they are surgically removed. Infected cysts are treated with warm soaks and antibiotics.  Perhaps your gynecologist or dermatologist can give you more advice about prevention of these cysts.

i have what i think is a sebaceous cyst on my vulva. it's small, round, and painless. should i be concerned or do anything about it?

If it is really: just a sebaceous cyst, you can leave it alone unless it becomes symptomatic.  But it could be something else, such as infection or even malignancy, so it is best to show it to your doctor.

Black Vulvar patches: Anytime a dermatologist here's the word black from a patient about a skin lesion, we get nervous. It is critical that you consult your doctor about these patches immediately. While there are many possible diagnoses, one would want to ensure that these are not potential malignancies. There are many other diagnoses for this too.

See Ob/Gyn: Its hard to say without doing an exam to determine exactly what you have.   Some cysts like this will resolve on their own and some require incision and drainage.  Sitz baths can help.  If you want a really good answer, you need to see an Ob/Gyn for an exam.  Best wishes!

Has to be seen: Unfortunately,  this is something that has to be visually seen by a GYN MD to evaluate and answer.
