can paragard copper iud can affect my sex drive?

No: The copper iud does not emit hormones and so will not have an effect on your sex drive.  It functions as a foreign body to block implantation of the fertilized egg.  So, it should not have an effect on your sex drive.

Accepted Answer

Possibly: Mirena is a hormone-eluding iud.  The hormone is levonorgestrel.  This hormone could cause a decrease in your sex drive (or libido).  Improving this possible side effect will be difficult, because there is no way to know for sure if the IUD is the cause.  The only was to know for sure is to have the IUD removed, and see if your symptoms improve over 6-8 weeks.

Only hormonal IUD's: Only hormonal IUD's may decrease libido.; The non hormonal IUD's do not.

Sex drive: Absolutely! !!!!  Estrogen and progesterone certainly can alter libido.   Your gynecologist can help find an alternative to improve the problem.

started using ocp isibloom after removing mirena iud (worked great). been on pill for 7 days. ive had increased anxiety, cramps, nausea, loss of appetite, insomnia, zero libido & constipation. should i switch pills this early or different bc method?

May be: It would be useful to see the doctor who prescribed the pill. You may consider getting another IUD, if that worked well for you.
Have a healthy diet, exercise 30 minutes/day, drink plenty of water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. For nutrition: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/.

Sex drive: Many things can affect sex drive, and you've unfortunately shared no information for us to work with.  Depression, relationship issues, medications, alcohol ; other substance abuse, medical illnesses, etc can all affect sex drive.  You can start working towards answers by seeing your physician for an evaluation.  Best wishes.

hi i'm on olazapine and it's killing my lido. i don't have a sex drive at all. what medicine can i take to up my lido?

: If your MD agrees that you're a candidate for it,  a low dose of an anabolic steroid like halotestin can improve libido in females. Viagra has been shown to increase blood flow to the female's genitals thereby increasing sexual arousal. This would be an off label use of Viagra though.

See details: A loss of libido in your age group is most frequently associated with psycho-social issues for example stress.  Medical conditions are possible so i would get a general checkup with blood tests first.  Then see your GYN for additonal evaluating.

Not necessarily : Everyone has ups and downs with their sex drive. If it is a problem for you and/or your partner then it is definitely worth looking into. Some considerations are your relationship to your partner, if things aren't going well it can  cause problems with sex. Also consider how long it has been since you had your baby. Giving birth can cause your sex drive to go away for a while. Good luck.
