Don't Worry: Sometimes women have unusual menstrual cycles.  You can have some irregular bleeding or spotting before or after your menses or even mid-cycle.  It is probably a good idea to start keeping a calendar of when you bleed, spot, etc. to show your OB/GYN.  Take ibuprofen, naproxen, or Acetaminophen for the cramping for the next 24-36 hours.  If you are not using contraception, consider pregnancy.

can you have regular period after implantation? can you explain why or why not?  because i think i have an implantation but i have no type of cramp

Accepted Answer

No: You can have bleeding at time of implantation, but i would not call this a "regular period."  the reason is because the hormones produced by the corpus luteum (follicle) prevent you from having a regular period.  Presence or absence of cramps does not indicate exactly what's going on.

is it ok to use hot water bottles for menstrual period cramps?

Accepted Answer

Depends: Hot water  bottles  in general  are a  fine method of  dealing  with menstrual cramps for those  who cannot or  don't  want  to  take medication. Make sure the bottle  is  covered  to avoid burning the skin. If  cramping is becoming  worse  over time  consult your md.

i had my 3 depo-provera shot 2 months ago and all of a sudden i've got horrible period cramps and so far two clots with a painful regular flow. is this normal?

No- call your gyn: May be break thru bleed on the Depo-Provera or something else, you need an exam and blood work and an ultrasound    go colts.

Some possibilities: Irregular bleeding is common.  Generally due to a variation in the hormone secretion but when accompanied by pain, then one needs to be seen to rule out a cyst, infection, pregnancy or endometriosis.

28yrs old w/pcos, regular period w/moderate painful cramps, don't want kids (in 2yrs yes). doc put me on loestrin 1/20 fe.  is this pill good for pcos?

Yes : All birth control pills with estrogen and Progesterone are going to be good for pcos.  The low dose pills are my first choice as well.  This lessons the side effects that women can have with birth control pills, and yet safe efficacy for pregnancy prevention and decreasing your testosterone levels (which are increased in pcos).  Your doc made a great choice!

Dysmenorrhea: It is related to your periods and you can take some thing for it, like Motrin or naprosyn, (naproxen) but do discuss with your gynecologist if it is ok.

No reason to suffer: Esp at your age , now there are many treatments both meds and surgically to help that. If  are done having children or do not want children, you can have an in office tubal so you do not have to worry about pg and then I do in my office endometrial ablation which is a great minor procedure where a balloon goes inside your uterus for 8 minutes to get rid of the tissue so no more or pain or periods.

Dysmenorrhea Tx: Dysmenorrhea Tx:  NSAID’s, SSRI’s, hormone meds, OTC meds containing diuretics, warm bath, heating pad, exercise &amp; acupuncture are excellent for dysmenorrhea. Avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol &amp; salt. Get GYN eval to R/O underlying pathology. Consider omega- 3 fatty acids, magnesium (supplementation or through diet) or Black Cohosh with dr ok. Sipping Chamomile can dissipate pain.

i've had extremely painful period cramps they subside for a bit and when they do, i feel very bruised and sensitive. thoughts?

Called dysmenorrhea: This can be treated using ibuprofen.
If going on for awhile - the start a birth control.
