Maybe: An eye patch will most definitely cure double vision caused by eye misalignment (binocular diplopia) but raises other issues regarding visual field and depth perception.  Most municipalities allow driving with only one eye - check locally and do what you feel safe with.  Hopefully, the problem is only temporary.

Dominant Eye: if you have a dominant eye, that would be the most logical choice. Please be careful as driving with monoccular vision can be challenging if you are not used to it.

Double : Double vision also referred to as diploplia. Double vision is the simultaneous perception of two images of one object, with one of the images being displaced. Double vision is usually an early sign of a more serious medical condition involving the neurologic or muscular systems, an auto immune disease, infectious processes, opthamological issues or cancer. 
Fatigue may rarely cause double vision, but not consistently.  It is crucial you see your doctor to investigate the double vision. Let your doctor know that you were already cleared by an opthamologist.

Not many: True double vision is caused either by a problem with the way the nerves send messages to the eye muscles, something preventing the muscles from moving, or something partially blocking the vision in one eye.  None of these can be treated by exercises.  Double vision that does not go away after a few minutes should be evaluated by a doctor.

Double?: It is important to figure out what double really means.... Two of each item out of one eye? Both eyes? Blurred? Ghosting? Out of focus?  Need a good refraction, corneal topography and macular oct to confirm normal structures.  Many time surface irregularities (abmd) can be a source!

: Assume you have Classical Migraine, which puts you at stroke risk if you smoke and take birth control pills.  A neurologist can place you on a medication that could break up the current aura/ migraine pattern.  The focal eye problem needs ophthalmological attention.

Consult a eye doctor: You may have a palsy of one of the cranial nerves causing dysconjugation of gaze. A formal eye exam will be able to rule out a nerve injury as a cause of the symptom. If it is a nerve injury, it may be temporary &amp; treatable with an eye patch over the affected eye for a period of a few weeks. Ultimately, you need to consult a specialist for a full eval to determine the cause &amp; the right treatment.

Double vision: It is difficult to answer this question directly without knowing your age and general health issues.  This could represent a tia, a transient ischemic episode.  I would suggest that you have this evaluated by an ophthalmologist.
