just had sinus surgery yesterday, they put in dissolvable packing and stints, can i use a nasal spray to help clean out nostrils?

Try saline.: You may first want to check with your surgeon because there are several different kinds of packing.  Usually, over the counter nasal saline (salt water) sprays are very useful after sinus surgery to help rinse away dried blood and crusting. They can be used with splints or stents in place. Do not use any prescription nose sprays until your ENT surgeon says it&#x27;s OK to do so.

Yes: A little bit of blood tinged stuff or small blood clots can be expected in the 1st couple of weeks. But if you suffer from profuse bleeding , contact the surgeon immediately.  Unless the nasal spray is prescribed by the surgeon, it may be a good idea to stop using it for a couple of weeks.

About what?: you don't need to panic, you have reasons for the clear drainage, I don't know where exactly was your brain tumor, but surgery causing CSF leak 2 years later is kind of a remote possibility and it needs to be anatomically related to the nasal passages, if the condition persists check neurosurgery / ENT, treatment anyways is generally conservative

suffering from chronic sinusitis since 3-4 years.  only one nostril is blocked while sleeping.used every type of nasal spray. doc says its b/l inferior turbinate hypertrophy and suggests that i might need smd surgery, can it return even after surgery?

: Yes, it may return.  It really depends on if the hypertrophy plays a more significant role than another possible cause of the sinusitis, such as allergy.  If it's more of a structural issue, then surgery may help.  But if it's more likely due to another cause, then the surgery may not help.

What spray?: If you are using a saline nasal spray, that is harmless. If you are using cocaine nasal spray, that is very bad. If you are using a decongestant that will not harm the baby.

For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

Addicted: To nose spray.If you use afrin (oxymetazoline) or a similar type decongestant nose spray around the clock ( daily ) for more than 3-4 days, your nose won't open without using the spray.Your nose has become dependent on the spray.It's hard to get off this cycle but your doctor can help, or you can go without it for a week , and going forward, only use it spairingly.

Possible: Stuffy ears can be the result of allergic inflammation and using a nasal steroid spray may be helpful.

No. Why. Maybe.: No, eating spicy chips should not raise a person's blood WBC count. However, a super high adrenalin level, such as gasping to swallow or breathe because the sriracha was just too fiery, can transiently raise blood WBC's but a person wouldn't be doing a lab test at that moment. Why lower one's WBC count? WBC's help us fight infections. Some people, not all, can use nasal sprays for postnasal drip.

Saline nasal washes: often, would be the best thing to do for now, besides any OTC antihistamine, read the labels carefully, until you see your doctor, good luck
