: Try applying moist heat with mild message and stretching. Drink plenty of water and electrolytes ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day  with or without a muscle relaxer   You can look on internet for proper technique or seee a physical therapist

Muscle spasms: I agree with Dr. S. I also recommend having her checked for deficiencies of calcium, magnesium,sodium or potassium. Until she sees a physician, she could ask her pharmacist to recommend a magnesium supplement for prevention of frequent muscle spasms.
