May not help much: It sounds like you have an ongoing prostate problem (suggested by taking Uroxotral) and now maybe increased symptoms and your doctor is concerned about infection. Antibiotics like cipro (ciprofloxacin) often are tried in prostatitis in case it&#x27;s a bacterial infection, but often it isn&#x27;t and antibiotic doesn&#x27;t help. If it does, improvement should start within 1-2 weeks. No drug interference. Work w/ your doctor.

i am taking cipro (ciprofloxacin) & flagyl for colitis.  on antibiotics the diarrhea has gone from inconvenient to uncontrollable.  can i take anything to control it?

Colitis: You may have Clostridium difficile colitis and need further evaluation, discontinuance of ciprofloxacin and possibly vancomycin and re-establishment of colonic flora designed to compete with the C. difficile.  See a GI doc or an Infectious Diseases expert.

Always tell each of ur prescribers all meds ur taking, including over the counter meds/supplements for proper counsel! :)

Alternate antibiotic: Contact your doctor about replacing ciprofloxacin with an altnerate antibiotic. There are several others that likely would be effective against your UTI.
