Possibly ; yes: Research shows folate (folic acid) deficiency increases risk of early miscarriage by 50%, yet most women who are folate (folic acid) deficient will not have a miscarriage. But since folate (folic acid) deficiency increases risk of neural tube birth defects it's wise for all women who might become pregnant to take Folic Acid (or the l-5-mthf form for the 1/3 of people who have trouble converting folc acid to folate (folic acid)).It will reduce risk.

YES- in fact crucial: Folic acid is proven to prevent a common group of birth defects; it's most important the first few weeks of pregnancy so should be taken preventively by all women who might become pregnant. If you're hypothyroid it's crucial to take thyroid hormone when pregnant; having low thyroid levels reduces fertility & greatly increases risk of miscarriage. Thyroid dose may need to be adjusted when pregnant.

It should not : be harmful, but I wonder whether it would be necessary. There are many reasons for miscarriages - but unfortunately they are very common. Some have theorized that up to 50% of ALL conceptions (know or not know) may end up in miscarriage (spontaneous or otherwise)

No: In pregnancy Folic Acid is recommended, prenatal vitamins, and omega 3 dha for fetal brain development.  Your physician will tell you if you are anemic which many women are and need additional iron.
