You need to use a humidifier, take hot steamy showers, sleep with the infected side up so it drains, and if possible flush the sinus with warm saline. The pills on there own are not enough. Ask your doctor about Augmentin.

Not unusual: Not unusual when being treated outpatient for diverticulitis to run a low grade fever for up to 48 hours after antibiotics started. If pain and fever persist beyond 72 hours, need re-evaluation. Ibuprofen with norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) is OK if still hurting. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Meds ok: That combination of meds is probably ok, but check with the ohaacy or the doctor that described them to be sure for your case. You could try Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to help you sleep. It's usually very effective for this. Hope this helps!

Hard to say: The best way to anticipate success of an antibiotic is to have a culture of the germ where sensitivity is tested. Without that, you rely on clinical change. The germ in these infections has had a head start creating the problem. I would expect a decline in fever within 24/36 hrs after starting the med as a good sign it will work. I would not expect it to change the symptoms in 4 hours.

Not really: As long as your kidney are ok, you can take advil (ibuprofen).  My issue is the 'pm' is diphenhydramine. There is no reason for you to take it unless you are having an allergic reaction. Diphenhydramine can cause tardive dyskinesia, which doesn't have treatment. So you can take it, but i don't think you should. Straight advil (ibuprofen) is fine.

Can talk with doctor: A person who had not had past problems taking Advil (or Motrin) separately from taking ciprofloxacin, should not have any problems taking them together, assuming no drug allergies. If she has any changes in symptoms or any new symptoms that she thinks might be from the meds, she should call her prescribing doctor.

Psychological?: After such in-person diagnostic efforts and attempts at treatment, no distant forum can come up with answers based only on such a brief description. Keep working with your doctor(s). Almost certainly not an infection, given no response to cipro. Such problems often are psychological -- anxiety etc magnifying minor symptoms or normal body sensations. Google chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS).
