Read the back label on the bottle to see how much epa and dha are in each capsule, and take enough to have the above epa and dha amounts daily -- with a meal.

For what purpose?: What are you hoping to gain from taking Fish Oil? It's one thing to eat fish as part of a healthy diet but that's very different from popping a few capsules to make up for dietary deficiencies. Currently, certain brands of fish oil are approved for those w/excessive triglyceride levels. But there is no approved use in diabetics or anyone else for any other reason. Fish oil contains a lot of Omega 3, which is quite good for you. Just as a fifteen year old could eat fish, there is no reason they couldn't take fish oil. Just be sure to stay within the dosage on the package. Hope this helps!

While there is no real safety concern, you may be spending money without having much of an effect. I recommend pregnant women consume fish oil by regularly eating fish that is low in mercury.
