Probably: You really should see your doctor before stopping any medications.  Lexapro (escitalopram) takes at least 21 days to tell if it is going to help you or not.  If you are having severe side effects, i would stop Lexapro (escitalopram) and call your doctor.  Lexapro (escitalopram) has a relatively long half-life so stopping it 'cold turkey' should not be too much of a problem after 13 days.

Speaking : Speaking as a non psychiatrist:  Lexapro is a serotonin uptake inhibitor in the same family as prozac, zoloft, paxil, (paroxetine) luvox, and celexa.  All are used to treat depression and/or anxiety.  If you took Lexapro with complete relief of your target symptoms i would recommend staying on it for at least 9 months.  Then you would have the option of tapering off or staying on it.  Withdrawal symptoms are not much of a problem after stopping lexapro, but it's always prudent to taper off over a few days.  The higher the dose, the longer the taper.  I don't like folks to stop it during the dark months.  If you stop it and symptoms recure, you can resume the same medication and expect the same benefit.

Possibly: but I would tapper off little y little . being on Lexapro for 2 yrs you don't want to abruptly stop cold turkey could have negative consequences. So to minimize adverse effects tapper off little by little. consult you physician on this alternative.

You're in withdrawal: It's bad for you because you have been on it for so long. It won't hurt you, but I can imagine it's very uncomfortable. If you have some Lexapro (escitalopram) at home, I would restart it for 1 week, then take 1/2 tablet for 2 weeks, then even 1/4 tablet (if you can) for 2 weeks, then stop.
