Possibly an abscess.: There are a number of different conditions that could cause your symptoms, but it is important you get in to see a dentist asap for a proper diagnosis. If it is from a bacterial infection it needs to be addressed quickly.

Whitening temporarily makes the enamel more permeable and microscopically exposes the dentin. Also the trays used in whitening can put pressure on the teeth which can cause them to become sore.

Yes: Although, i'm not sure referred pain is the correct word in your case.  When there is insufficient space for a wisdom tooth, it can come in out of position and cause pain, especially if the gum tissues are covering it partially.  Referred pain means you are feeling it in another area.  Mouth pain can be hard to localize, and wisdom teeth are no exception.
