Your brain needs: a fixed amount of blood flow at all times. When you stand up, in normal adults not taking medicines, the "auto-pilot" in your body will instantaneously maintain this flow by immediately increasing either your heart rate or blood pressure or both to avoid you from fainting.

Pulsatile tinnitus: This is usually cased by fluid in your inner ear transmitting your carotid pulse to your ear drum.  Someone else could hear it if they placed their ear to your ear.  It can be treated by antihistamines, sometimes steroids, and sometimes people benefit from a ct sinuses to evaluate for chronic infection.  Hope this helps!

Medical exam: This symptom may be caused by several conditions, e.g. High blood pressure, vascular inflamation, migraine headaches and numerous other problems.  It is necessary to discuss this with your physician and have a complete examination as soon as possible.

Maybe/maybe not: Your blood pressure rises when you stand up..this is normal. So it sounds like you are sensing a pulsation when your blood pressure rises. This probably means your medication is not perfectly controlling your blood pressure.  Depending on where the "wob, wob" feels, it could be related to a bruit, or sound of blood going through a narrowed blood vessel.  You need to discuss all this with your doc!

pulse in my head. is this indicative of carotid artery disease?

No: Carotid artery disease usually become symptomatic when an embolus or clot goes to the brain and cause stroke or mini stroke . Hearing pulse in the head does not indicate the presence or absence of disease.

after stopping my lisinopril, (per cardiologist orders) i get a loud pulse in my head periodically. what can cause this?  recent ekg was normal.

Odds are: It's totally unrelated, but there is a very small chance that you may have very high blood pressure at those time.  It wouldn't hurt to check your blood pressure at that time.  Otherwise, to figure out what else it may be related to, it would help to have more info, as in where is the pulse, superficial vs deep, is there anything that tends to cause the pulse, is it a single pulse or multiple?

Get busy: Sometimes u can feel like this when u are alone and resting and may be perceptive. if u have no medical conditionslike like HT or Hyperthyroidism. it good to ignore it and do some activity.

Your symptoms : Are probably due to uncontrolled high blood pressure. Seek medical attention for a good history and physical exam. 85-90% if hypertension is essential without a secondary cause. The rest can have a disease process causing it. Ekg and basic labs will help to differentiate. Good luck.
