Call your doctor: This likely can wait and be seen at your child’s next visit. If fever or cough or pain/redness of the lymph nodes, or ear pain develop, please call your doctor for an appointment to be seen sooner. Many children have enlarged lymph nodes in that area, and generally they are benign and associated with an upper respiratory infection.

Yes if infected: If you have gingivitis (bad guns, rotten teeth) or a tooth abscess, then you lymph nodes can be inflamed and enlarged.

Infection: When you have pain in your teeth, and a tender lymph node; this is an infection until proven otherwise.
You need antibiotics x 10 days.
After 10 days, if no improvement, then more serious issues need to be investigated.

Make an appointment.: Swollen lymph nodes, while they can be related to something as simple as a common cold, can also be signs of life-threatening conditions.  You can evaluate any dental components at a routine 6 month dental exam, but if something is hurting, swelling or bleeding you have an instability and it&#x27;s time for an intervention. Be serious.  Make an appointment with your dentist and your ENT.

Old infection: The node got scarred due to an infection in the lower limb, probably when you were younger. As it has not changed in 6 years, it is not a cause for concern for cancer or anything else. Leave it alone.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Monitoring Centers: The lymphatic system absorbs and carries things too big to go into the arteries and veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food.  A lymph node "tastes" the lymph to see if anything bad is there like bacteria, viruses, cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and enlarges in response to the inflammation they create when they react. There are many causes.

See prior biopsy...: Probably related to the same reason the first node was enlarged. Would have to see biopsy of that first node.  You should talk to your doc.

Usually not unless: The fissure has got infected and you now have a perirectal abscess. Best to be examined by a colon and rectal surgeon to offer proper advice on management of either.
