Actual rip of muscle: The muscle is actually torn or ripped through. It can come with trauma, certain medications such as statins can contribute to it, and can be associated with elevated muscle enzymes after the injury

PT: It depends on the severity and location of the tear.  Physical therapy can be a viable alternative to surgery.  In addition, a local steroid injection may reduce inflammation further allowing your muscle to heal.  Be sure to see a doc to see if you are a candidate for pt.

Muscle tear heel: Sure a muscle tear after 7 months can be painful due to many reasons. One is scar tissue may have formed. A nerve entrapement may have occur such as baxters nerve compression. Sometimes no physical therapy after it being healed can cause intermittent pain. Finally your condition might have been a surgical case, hence conservative measures may have not healed the tear.

No: The above substances resemble the building blocks of a cartilage, but not of muscle. They will be ineffective in case of a muscle tear.

It shouldn't...: That's a leisurely pace and you shouldn't be stressing your torn abdominal muscles too severely.  The only thing that might make it more difficult is walking up or down an incline.  And you could always try to do one mile first...

i have an egg sized indentation on my right upper buttock. there is no pain.  what could the cause be? muscle tear?

SFA: This is a common location for something referred to as subcutaneous fat atrophy (sfa).  Have you had any kind of injection in the area?  This is the usual cause of sfa.  Focal trauma to the area can also result in the same but as i understand you do not recall this happening.  Are you diabetic?  This will sometimes happen in diabetics.
