no health problems. frequent peeing, dehydration, rapid heart rate, stress, weakness. could stress and anxiety cause dehydration? i've had 4 ivs.

Dehydration: I don't what types of tests you have had but diabetes insipid us and diabetes mellitus need to be ruled out. Also other endocrine abnormalities including pituitary tumor needs to be ruled out.

if you have a rapid heart rate and unexplained shivering when you are sick, is that dehydration or is that fever?

Maybe both: That may be a result of both fever and dehydration.  Fever, left untreated, will result in dehydration and they both (fever and dehydration) lead to tachycardia (rapid heart rate).

seizures(about 5) for the last 6 mo., rapid heart rate, chest pain directly between breasts, dizziness daily, dehydration, and head aches. any ideas?

Daily dizziness: You really should be seen in an er if you have a rapid heart rate (r). You need to be evaluated for hyperthyroidism and/or a cardiac problem. The next time you have one of these r's, get to an er as quickly as possible. If it's present when you are examined, an answer may be found. If not, you  will blood work sent off and be sent to the proper physician for treatment and a cure. Good luck.

i have tachycardia. recieving fluids through an i.v. always slowed my heart rate even tho i was not dehydrated. why is this? this is b4 i was on meds.

Most likely : Most likely, you were given medicine through the IV such as Adenosine or diltiazem. The IV fluid is used just to provide vascular access.

sometimes when lying down for a while i get numbness and tingling in both legs and arms; rapid heart rate, a tad "breathy."  goes soon after i get up.  seems to come on more often than not if i'm feeling dehydrated.  any connection to hydration? thks

Numbness  tingling: This requires more information to understand this better.  Numbness and tingling if usually from problems with the nervous system (nerves/brain),  circulation or emotional preceptions  I few things come to mind. Cervical disc disease, anxiety, or circulation issues.

Doctor can evaluate: Many things in life are possible, but heart rates above the 170's usually mean something else is wrong. Dehydration means different things to different people, and comes in varying severities. Teens and adults with a little bit of dehydration due to minor illnesses, or moderate dehydration due to bad stomach flu, are not likely to get up to the 200 heart rate range.

Accepted Answer

Not usually: Claritin (loratadine)-d can cause elevated BP in those who already suffer from hypertension.  Claritin (loratadine) can cause arrhythmias (disorders of heart rhythm) and so can the "d" part, pseudoephedrine.  If you have hypertension or heart problems, you should stay away from most decongestants, most people can use antihistamines such as plain Claritin (loratadine) safely however.

Yes, any "D" drug : The "d" in claritin-d, or Mucinex (guaifenesin) - d and others,  all stand for decongestant.  Decongestants are medications that stimulate the adrenaline system and can cause higher blood pressure and heart rate.  While not bad for short time, may cause problems if used chronically.  Check with your dr. If you have high blood pressure or heart rhythm problems before using these medications.

Diuretics: Hypovolemia produces tachycardia through compensatory mechanisms that occur through the carotid baroreceptors and renal perfusion feedback mechanisms to stimulate the sympathetic nervous system.
