I : I agree with your doctor. This incident does not necessarily mean you will get a vaginal or urinary tract infection. There is a possibility that harmful bacteria present in the diarrhea did not enter the vaginal or urinary tract. So like your doctor, i agree that you should wait for symptoms to occur. For example a UTI can cause burning with urination, frequency, lower abdominal pain, and even fever. While a vaginal bacteriainfection usually presents with a vaginal discharge with a foul odor and irritation. If any of the above occur please see your doctor.

Cranberry juice: This is virtually worthless for bladder infection. It lowers the pH, making the urine more acidic, which should inhibit bacterial growth, but you would have to drink so much of this that you could drown in it. If you are having burning on urination check with your PCP to be sure you don't have a bladder infection. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Take as directed: As long as you take the probiotics as directed, they should not cause harm and they may help your diarrhea. Cranberry juice may help to prevent UTIs but still get evaluated by your doctor to find the underlying cause.
