or add 2 tsp of slippery elm bark to 1 cup of hot water (steep for at least 5 minutes in a covered teapot). Drink this as needed to relieve itchinessor a few times per day.  Slippery elm bark lozenges are also helpful.

Very possible : It's very possible that you have been exposed to a virus. Watch your symptoms for increased fever, and other worsening signs of a more significant illness. Drink plenty of fluids, get good rest and eat well. If getting worse after 5-7days consider getting a consult. Always be seen if significant worsening. Gargling warm salt water and plain Robitussin (guaifenesin) may help symptoms. Good luck.

Throat itching: Greetings. The throat itching may be from an allergic reaction. Your airway is obviously stable and I'm assuming swallowing is normal. An antihistamine such as Claritin, Allegra or Zyrtec may help. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) will work fastest but may cause drowsiness. See your doctor. Testing for foods in your diet as well as anything new to your environment should be targeted for evaluation. Good Luck.
