i think i burned my vaginal/anal area with nair. it stings when i pee but there is no swelling. i put hydrocortisone cream and it stung so bad i had to immediately wipe it away. why would that be?

: It is very unusual for Hydrocort. to cause soo much burning.  You can try a skin cream or see a doc. Hope you feel better

You could, but: You should get it examined. If it's an infection of some sort, cortisone can make things worse.

No: Topical Hydrocortisone cream is unlikely to have any benefit on a bartholin's cyst. Try warm compresses or baths. If the cyst gets larger or more painful with any signs of infection, go see your gynecologist as it may require antibiotics or incision and drainage.

Should resolve: Most likely it will resolve on its own without any treatment. Food is not going to help it. If the area looks infected or like there is a chemical burn have an Obgyn examine the area.

: Two types of cysts that occur on the vagina are inclusion cysts&amp;Bartholin cysts. Your gynecologist is best to examine and advise you. At this time your symptoms don't suggest an infected cyst however.

Vulva only: Hydrocortisone cream is designed for external vulvar(skin) use only and should not be placed inside the vagina.

no: The mucosal cells do not benefit from steroid cream.  It causes thinning of your protective layer.  If you are itching see your doctor for a diagnosis and treatment appropriate to your problem.

No: In general, Hydrocortisone cream is mean for (outside) skin, not mucosal surfaces like vagina or mouth. It also depends upon why your vagina is burning. Best to go see your family doc before applying Hydrocortisone cream since it is a steroid cream that has potential to cause problems in rest of your body. And may aggravate whatever is causing your burning.
