Membrane stripping: It sounds like your doctor plans on stripping your membranes. It simply means to exam your cervix and swirl it around with a  finger between your cervix and the amniotic sac. In some cases this can trigger contractions. It does not guarantee that you will go into labor at al.

i went into preterm labor at 28w with first preg. this preg (2nd preg) 1st cervix length check was 4cm, 2nd was 3cm, 3rd was 2.52cm. dr suggested follow up in 2 weeks after i pushed for it. not on progesterone. should i make a sooner app?

Odd statement:  How would your hymen be thick &amp; intact if you are pregnant ? Was sperm inserted using a narrow tube ? Unless you have a scheduled C-section that avoids the hymen during delivery it will  be destroyed during a vaginal delivery and would likely be cut open prior to labor. Your post is confusing to say the lease. Are you really pregnant?

Discuss with your doctor if you have certain risks or symptoms that increase your risk of preterm labor.
