More info: The basic answer is that checking your cervix at this point should not cause any problems. The more important question is why are you being checked? Discuss with your doctor if you have certain risks or symptoms that increase your risk of preterm labor. If so or if you are complaining of contractions or pressure perhaps this is why exams are being done. Clarify the concerns and plans with your ob
