It is frequently used for respiratory infections, and can be used for uti's as well, but i would like to see a culture result to be sure it is adequate.

It is commonly given for infections across the lungs, sinuses, gut, and skin.  Mild or major, depends on perspective but overall i would say that antibiotics are over-prescribed.  The key at this point is to finish the course you were given.

Antibiotics ; surger: You can continue taking your medication up until your surgery.  During the procedure you will probably get IV antibiotics so don't worry about the dose for the day of surgery or during your hospitalization. Good luck.

Varies: I find the response to this antibiotic is usually evident with a reduction in systemic systems like fever within 48 hrs. The muffled hearing, pressure and fullness may last a few weeks.Failure to see any improvement within 48 hours may indicate a resistant germ or additional problems. A recheck would be indicated.

Yes your doctor shou: You must inform the doctor, so that he/she can make some adjustments. The heartburn can be easily controlled with maalox or you can get hold of some Pepcid (famotidine) or zantac(least expensive). Prilosec is even more effective for heartburn but it costs a bit more.
