Pupil spot: Don't understand what a "yellow spot on the left pupil when taking flash pictures" means. If you regularly see an eye doctor, I doubt this is the cause.

Joking, right?: If that were true, there would be an epidemic of blindness, no? Take as many as you want!

Not likely: Lengthy exposure to very bright artificial light may possibly damage the retina, but a brief camera flash is quite unlikely to cause any serious harm. Sunlight, on the other hand, can be very dangerous even with brief exposure due to the high levels of ultraviolet light contained in sunshine.

Accepted Answer

No: This is a momentary, frequently dazzling impact of light which can be uncomfortable but will do not harm.  Movie actors are frequently exposed from this repeatedly over time and have no higher incidence of eye problems than would be expected.

After-image: The retina contains light receptors. A chemical reaction occurs inside these cells when stimulated by light, which in turn creates an electric signal that the brain interprets as light. Once the chemical reaction ends, the cells "re-charge" - slower with intense light. The stark difference between the bright light and dark room keeps the cells stimulated a little longer, creating an after-image.

No: A baby's eye color cannot be changed by a camera flash.  The eye may darken normally during the first few months of life however.

i accidentally took a back camera picture with the flash on my iphone while i was staring into it and today my eyes feel strained and hard to focus and ive developed a headache as the day goes on, im just wondering what i should do?

: Exposure to bright light may have caused the symptoms. You could wait and watch, if it is not better after a night's sleep, see a doctor.

No: It may be annoying. I do not know of any cases nor have ever heard that a camera flash can harm a newborns eyesight.
