No: Bug bites often cause hives at the site of the bite, sometimes can be large, due to components of the insect bite. Allergies to bug bites or other elements are mediated by elements of the immune system, such as the ige, the antibody that triggers the immediate allergic reaction resulting in itching and generalized hives, and sometimes leads to anaphylaxis.

Contact Dermatitis: You can have  a hives reaction due to a wide range of things. Any new detergent? New shirt? Lotion? Soap?

Make note of any recent changes, and slowly start removing and adding things back until the symptoms go away.

Evaluation: Take pictures of the rash and bring them into your primary care doctors office or see an Allergist for more details. The type of rash depends on various factors so getting someone to see it in person is important in order to get a correct diagnosis.

Likely reactive: Lymphadenopathy or a lymph node that is swelling in response to the bite. As long as it remains small, less than an inch and is mobile and starts to resolve with time, it will be fine. If not, let your doctor take a look. All the best.

Cannot say: Rashes often require a direct exam for their character &amp; distribution to begin the process of a proper label. Those localized to a single region are more likely from contact with a local agent. Those that are more generalized may be foods or general contact. It may  be something different.

Bed bugs: If these bites continue I recommend using techniques to detect low level bed bug infestation using devices under the bed or couch. A dermatologist can evaluate these bites and determine whether they're bed bug bites or not.

i am on phentermine and cannot sleep due to the numerous bug bites i have. i took one benadryl (diphenhydramine) allergy. anything i need to watch using both these meds?

Minimal concerns: Usually if anything Phentermine will keep you from sleeping.  Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is sedating.   This should be fine. I am not concerned!  Hope you can get a good night's rest!
