Unlikely: Body hair is very superficial and simple abscesses within a hair root will not achieve such size or  discomfort. What it is exactly would require an exam as it could well be a deep abscess that needs draining or prescription meds.

Need more info: If you had a viral infection that could cause joint pain, reaction to some medications can produce similar symptoms, some autoimmune disorders can present as joint pains. If the symptoms do not subside in 2-3 days, it would be prudent to see a doctor.

i bent my thumb a bit about a month ago and its been getting better week by week but still hurts a bit if i stretch it far enough or bend it the way it was that caused it to get hurt. do thumb joints just take awhile to fully heal? no redness/swell?

: Joint spaces &amp; their linkages are not supplied as well as skin &amp; organs with the blood flow that permits healing. It will take time but if you leave the thumb alone (don't stress it a lot) it should heal.

Difficult to say...: Rashes are undeniably one of the most difficult diagnoses without some visual input. Bumps near joints that go away with Benadryl (diphenhydramine) does not sound serious, bur certainly seems bothersome. Best idea is to take your 1 y/o to the pediatrician, or at least snap a photo on your phone to ask your pediatrician on the next office visit. Is there a dog or kitten in the house?

Spider: Spider bites can be nasty. Your symptoms can come from any toxin from almost any spider. Check the bite site and see what is happening there. Given that you have vertigo which you never had before may be a sign of neural toxicity - i would go have this checked.
