No: Anxiety by itself would not cause purple feet. Such discoloration may be related to venous stasis ( blood pooling in the lower limbs) and should be discussed with  a primary care physician. It is understandable that a person might have anxiety with such a condition and that should also be discussed with the doctor.

Raynauds or stasis.: There are multiple possibilities for purple discoloration of the feet but the most common  are-1. Venous stasis due to pooling of venous blood in the sitting or standing position because of decrease of the calf muscle pump, 2. Raynaud's syndrome which results in color changes of the feet and even hands due to spasm of the small vessels in the toes and hands and, 3. Vasodilation due to medications.

Circulation problem?: Purple or blue coloring to hands or feet usually means decreased or slowed circulation to the area. This can happen if the blood vessels get compressed or if the vessels tighten themselves and lessen the blood flow. Sometimes, blood flow will change due to nerve signals or chemical signals telling the vessels to constrict. A primary doctor and a rheumatologist can evaluate and look for the cause.

If you have your: feet folded underneath you with your knees bent it will impede the normal flow of venous blood back to your body. This will result in pooling of venous blood in your feet and they will turn blue/purple. When you start walking normal flow is returned and the blood and color will return to normal. This is normal physiology.
