No: Because of the many contradictory beliefs and popular lore regarding masturbation and ejaculation and the absence of good, reproducible, scientific evidence, there is much confusion. In general, the body is very good at self-regulating its glands and it is likely that too little or too much ejaculation (however one defines these) has any significant beneficial or adverse effect on the prostate.

Retrograde ejaculati: Most of the drugs for prostate like Flomax (tamsulosin) are Alpha blockers and will cause ejaculate to go into bladder; other drugs like Proscar can have ejaculate and other sexual side effects; most if not all prostate surgeries will effect ejaculatipn in some way.

BPH treatment: 59 y m with BPH & tamsulosin. Depending on the size & complications your urologist can give best option.Minimal invasive procedures are microwave, laser, needle ablation. Then turp, nerve sparing prostatectomy, incision prostate. The later two preserve erection & ejaculation. Turp is 90% done &5% retrograde ejaculation rate. Again size & complications determine the choice of procedure. Thanks.

Unlikely : In general, prostatic enlargement is unrelated to erectile dysfunction.  The only connection is that the incidence of both increase with age.

Not typical: This is not a typical sign of prostate enlargement. Urinary frequency, urgency, slow stream, incomplete bladder emptying, etc. Are tip-offs to prostate enlargement or benign bladder outlet obstruction. The force of ejaculation is highly variable and not something you should be concerned about.

i have been drinking tamsul for 5 months for enlarged prostate i don't see any improvement the symptoms are not improving. what needs to happen to solve the problem? i go to toilet regularly even at nite. please advise me.

Medication.: The volume of an enlarge prostate can be reduced with medications called 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors, such as Finasteride and dutasteride. It may take a quite a long time, but the size of the prostate will decrease with treatment, as will episodes of urine obstruction. Although these medications are effective, patients that fail to improve with these medications may need a procedure.
