No: Mold allergy can cause asthma and even a pneumonia-like condition but not pleurisy per se . Cigarette smoke is unhealthy can can cause breathing problem in susceptible people but not pleurisy.   What do you mean by pe-pulmonary embolism ?

Not necessarily: If  you are allergic to molds, you will suffer typical allergic symptoms if exposed to them. Still, allergic people may develop symptoms of irritation to high levels of molds more easily than non-allergic people. Pulmonary emboli do not affect reactions to mold.

Not directly: Infection is a pro thrombotic state(clot causing), so a sever illness can lead to an set or dvt.  The pleurisy itself (inflammation of the lining of the lung) is a part of the inflammatory cascade that can lead there, but doesn't directly cause svts.

Yes: Pleuritis is a very common cause of chest pain.  Typically you will have pain on inspiration.  Usually viral in etiology and can be effectively treated with nsaids for several days.   If the pain last longer than several days, get a chest x ray.  Sometimes i also add a medro dose pak.

No, and yes.: No, because true pleurisy is an inflammation of the two linings surrounding the lungs (see prior) and sports should't cause this unless, perhaps, there is blunt trauma to the chest wall. However, the symptoms of pleurisy, pain on breathing, could be caused by trauma or contusion of the chest wall or lung. Interestingly, a gas bubble caught under the diaphragm may cause pleuritic symptoms.

Treatments should be directed towards the underlying cause such as antibiotics for the bacterial infection. Nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs can help control the pain associated with it.
